What's the purpose of Adopting a Village?

The real goal in this program is not that you would only raise $5,000, but that your church or organization would be moved to pray for God's glory to be revealed through His church in these specific communities. We want to see people come to faith in Christ through the local church and to receive clean water as an expression of God's love for us. In a lot of these communities, physical needs must be met before the Gospel is preached. In Scripture, we see Jesus do both - care for the poor and proclaim the coming Kingdom. The church should continue in this method until all have heard the Good News.

Who can adopt a village?

At Neverthirst, we partner with local churches on the ground in developing countries to provide clean water to their communities - and so it makes sense for stateside churches to partner with churches in these developing nations. But it doesn't have to stop there! Any Sunday School class, group, organization, school or business can adopt a village in one of our target countries and we'll bring back the photos and testimonies along with GPS coordinates just like we would for a church.

What does a well cost to drill?

Great question! In each of our countries it varies due to the availability and pricing of parts, travel conditions, and how far our partners must travel in country to reach these rural villages. For instance, in India it is much easier to access parts and travel to villages than it is in Central African Republic where parts are ordered from Dubai, shipped to Cameroon and then trucked across the border before they even make the long trek to the villages. An average for our projects ranging from CAR to Sudan to India is $5,000.

What if we raise more than $5,000?

We will use your excess funding to partner it with a church or group that might not have been able to raise the full amount. In that case, we will give you information on your adopted village along with the one you helped fund with other churches or groups.

Can we travel to our adopted village with Neverthirst?

Most of our travel overseas is not designed to take groups. We are traveling with photographers and videographers to capture the images and bring back the proof of your giving. Also, these countries are not the best to travel in for the average individual. Imagine 18 hours in the back of an SUV traveling through the rain forrest with no air conditioner....it may sound romantic, but it's not!

How long should it take to raise our $5,000?

It depends on how aggressive your church or organization is about getting the word out and asking people to help you. Some might take 30 days, others six months. Use our videos, posters, flyers and general information to raise awareness and funds to adopt your village. We'll give you your village name, people group and GPS coordinates so that you can share it with your friends and pray for the people you're adopting.
