From Mt Rainier to The Himalayas

Isn't it incredible how God weaves people in and out of your life for various reasons?
I met Jamie Fike as a 1st Grader at our small school. We became instant buddies and remained close throughout high school until graduation. Jamie was just one of those great guys that everyone loved to be around....an all around solid friend.
After graduation and college, Jamie got a job and found himself moving to the midwest. He soon fell in love, got married and now Jamie and his wife Tina have two beautiful kids and live in Cincinnati, Ohio.
About a year ago Jamie contacted me and told me he and a buddy, Bill Cox, were going to climb Mt. Rainier and wanted to help raise support for Neverthirst. We began to brainstorm and thought this would be the perfect opportunity to introduce some new projects we were working on high in the Himalayas.
This summer Jamie and his friend will be tackling a tough mountain in Washington state in order to help bring clean and living water to people living in the shadows of the worlds tallest mountains in Nepal.
According to our partners' own research it's estimated that almost half of children living in the Himalayas don't reach their 8th birthday. It's an extremely difficult existence and most of the water coming off the mountains is contaminated by the time it reaches the villages. By visiting Jamie and Bill's page you will have the opportunity give directly to their mission to help hundreds get clean water in their village for the first time.
The best way our partner has found to bring clean water to these remote villages is to construct community water filtration centers built with local materials. We have committed to helping them construct six of these 'clean water centers' this year along with training young people Biblically and in sanitation and hygiene.
It's been really great to connect with Jamie again after all these years. And amazing to think that God knew our friendship was designed for something bigger than tackle football at recess.
